Great Kids FarmNonprofit Spotlight: Great Kids Farm

Great Kids Farm is a 33-acre educational farm owned and operated by Baltimore City Public Schools. Through hands-on educational field trips, standards-based lessons, teacher professional development, high school internships and dissemination of living educational materials, the Farm enriches student learning, connects students with healthy foods, and teaches valuable career skills.

Since 2011, Friends of Great Kids Farm has been raising funds and support to ensure Great Kids Farm can reach as many of Baltimore City's 85,000 students as possible. Friends fundraising efforts have been directed toward critical assets unavailable through the school system, including a work truck, a deer fence, bus transportation to the Farm, and educational materials. Friends recently hired its first Executive Director to develop and implement a sustainable fundraising strategy, and launched its own website to share the Farm's work with a wider audience. Friends welcomes partners of all shapes and sizes to tour the Farm and learn how you can support this unique educational asset for Baltimore City students. Learn more
