Maryland New DirectionsNonprofit Spotlight: Garden Harvest

Garden Harvest is grassroots non-profit organic farm created, operated, and staffed by thousands of volunteers. Their mission is to alleviate hunger by producing and donating eggs, milk, and fresh organic vegetables & fruit to the hungry via emergency food agencies. Garden Harvest also serves as an educational center on highly marketable construction skills such as carpentry, masonry and heavy equipment operation. They also teach methods of organic farming and sustainable agriculture to improve personal and community food security around the world. As an added resource, they provide nutrition trainings and raise the consciousness of the general public as to the causes of hunger and homelessness. Learn more
