BVU's Volunteer Central is the primary resource for recruiting and organizing volunteers. Our organization is the one-stop shop for anyone interested in volunteerism. We help individuals find opportunities in over 500 community service organizations focusing on various community issues.

Volunteer Central is a program of BVU Maryland, a nonprofit that works with businesses, nonprofits and individual volunteers to build healthy, vibrant communities.

Over the years we have helped 30,000 individuals find meaningful volunteer opportunities that strengthen hundreds of nonprofit organizations. BVU’s Volunteer Central makes it easy for you to connect to a community organization where your involvement can be a critical factor in the success of the region.

Hands On Network

BVU's Volunteer Central is an affiliate of Hands On Network. Along with 28 other affiliates throughout the country, BVU's Volunteer Central facilitates a unique model of volunteerism that enables concerned citizens, from all walks of life and despite their busy schedules, to act on their idealism. Maryland Association of Nonprofit Organizations

BVU Maryland works in collaboration with Maryland Association of Nonprofit Organizations to strengthen the nonprofit community by facilitating board and organizational development; training and referring business executives to nonprofit boards, and providing general volunteer referral.
Maryland Nonprofits' mission is to strengthen and improve individual nonprofit organizations and the nonprofit sector as a whole, while also working to bolster public confidence in and support for nonprofit organizations.

Points of Lights Foundation

Founded in May 1990, the Foundation is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization devoted to promoting volunteerism. The Foundation is based in Washington, DC, and works in communities throughout the United States through a network of over 500 Volunteer Centers.
