BVU's Volunteer Central connects volunteers to your organization to support your mission. Every month we coordinate hundreds of volunteers and local businesses who are interested in giving back to their communities through volunteerism with local agencies.

There is no need to register on multiple sites. By registering with BVU’s Volunteer Central, you are promoting your opportunities on two other websites, which means visibility by thousands of more volunteers!

Looking for skilled volunteers? Volunteer Central’s Skills Bank is a pool of volunteers and volunteer opportunities entered by agencies. Skilled volunteer opportunities refer to a volunteer job requiring education or training in a particular area. The Skills Bank helps you to attract volunteers with the skills you need! Services for Community Organizations
Here's how to promote your volunteer opportunities with us:
To submit volunteer opportunities with BVU's Volunteer Central, your organization must be a nonprofit or a government agency.
- Register your organization! Fill out the information to be a part of our online searchable database of volunteer opportunities. Get started >
- Submit your volunteer opportunities! Update these opportunities and contact information on a regular basis as needed. Get started >
- Keep us in the loop! Email us with any questions or suggestions, include us on your newsletter mailing lists, and contact VC staff directly with upcoming volunteer projects that need special attention. We are working with hundreds of organizations and thousands of volunteers – help us remember to refer volunteers to you by staying in touch with us directly!
- Update your listing! New contacts, new email addresses, new opportunities should be updated regularly. If there is no activity on your listing for 12 months, your agency will be made “inactive” where it cannot be viewed by the public.

We get the word out! One-day events, weekly opportunities, skilled volunteer positions, and needs for groups of volunteers are publicized to a large and diverse number of interested volunteers through Volunteer Central’s monthly e-newsletter. Keep us informed of your needs so we can help you recruit exceptional volunteers!

We have direct access to the business community! We help individuals and teams of corporate volunteers mobilize to meet your volunteer needs. Create partnerships and gain skilled volunteers for a variety of needs!
Technical Assistance and Training
We strive to help you! Resources and training including our bimonthly Volunteer Leader Brown Bag discussions are available to community organizations on volunteer management issues. Let us be a resource for you!
Disaster Preparedness
Volunteer Central’s Disaster Preparedness program is designed to engage volunteers and nonprofits interested in providing help in the event of a disaster in the Baltimore area. Through this program, nonprofits and volunteers learn how to coordinate and manage resources before emergencies take place so they can be more appropriately prepared to deploy assistance after the disaster.
