Looking to volunteer on Martin Luther King, Jr Day this year? These opportunities are seeking volunteers on Monday, January 18. 

  1. Organization: 6th Branch
    Location: Johnston Square Park

    Description: Join The 6th Branch for their fifth annual MLK Day of Service at Johnston Square Park at   Volunteers will work in conjunction with Re-Build Johnston Square Neighborhood Association and conduct a park clean up and renovation.

  1. Organization: Moveable Feast
    Location: 901 N. Milton Avenue
    Baltimore, MD 21205
    Description: Volunteers will serve as Kitchen Assistants to help Moveable Feast's chef with food preparation, meal packaging, cleaning up and stocking the pantry.  Meals will be delivered to provide nutritious foods and other services in order to preserve quality of life for people with HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening conditions.  Volunteer times may vary.

    Description: The Big Vine Pull: Parks & People Foundation, the Friends of Gwynns Falls/Leakin Park and Outward Bound need volunteers to help to keep invasive vines in check in Leakin Park and keep young trees healthy.  No experience is necessary; all training and tools will be provided. This is an outdoor, hands-on volunteer opportunity from 10am-12pm.

    Description: Join Parks & People for a clean-up of Sandtown-Winchester in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Saturday, January 16th! This is a great opportunity to serve West Baltimore in making it a greener and cleaner place for people to enjoy.  Volunteers should bring a reusable water bottle, and wear long pants and sturdy closed-toed shoes. Tools and gloves will be provided. Free street parking will be available.  PLEASE NOTE: THIS EVENT TAKES PLACE ON SATURDAY, JANUARY 16, 2016 FROM 10am-12pm.

    Description: Be part of a volunteer tree protection event in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. National Day of Service.  Please remember to wear warm clothes and boots as volunteer project will take place outdoors.  Hot chocolate and bagels will be provided.  Students are encouraged to participate and will receive service learning hours.  Volunteer project will take place from 10:30am-1pm
