Skills Bank — A great way to get connected in a meaningful way!

Volunteer Central Skills Bank is a pool of volunteers and volunteer opportunities. Skilled volunteer opportunities refer to a volunteer job requiring knowledge or training in a particular area. Skilled volunteer opportunities may include graphic design, aerobics instruction, event planning, accounting, and countless other professional areas. A skilled volunteer is someone with particular skills gained through education, experience and/or training who is interested in sharing his/her skills with a local nonprofit organization to help them in accomplishing their mission.

When you sign up with our Skills Bank, you can search skilled volunteer opportunities that are in our database from hundreds of area nonprofit agencies that are of interest to you.

You can either view a list of skilled volunteer opportunities or contact the agencies yourself and/or you can post information about your skills and background so that the Volunteer Central staff can contact you when we find a fitting volunteer opportunity that would tap into your professional skills.

There are 2 steps to create a Skills Bank profile:

1. Create a saved search. Follow the steps.
2. Create a Skills Bank profile. This option will appear at the end of the “Saved Search” process. Click the final “next” button. The second purple bar says “Your Skills Bank Profile”. Underneath this it says “Manage your skills bank profile”. Click here and follow the steps given. You are then officially added into the Volunteer Central Skills Bank! Volunteer Central staff will be in touch when we find a volunteer opportunity that we think fits your background and skill set. But you do not have to wait for us! Please review the opportunities and make contact with any agency that you choose even without being contacted from our staff.
